Michaela is a Registered Counselling-Therapist (RCT) as well as a Psychotherapist (RP). She has 10 years of clinical experience in a wide variety of mental health environments. She obtained her diploma in Children and Youth Care Counselling from the Medicine Hat College while living in Alberta. From here she moved to Victoria BC to finish her degree in Children and Youth Care Counselling from the University of Victoria. Michaela then completed her Masters in Arts of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. While completing her education Michaela worked in daycare, respite centers, ABA clinics, addiction centers, woman's shelters, the YMCA, and both government mental health and private practices. These experiences have shaped the approaches Michaela takes in her practice.
Michaela has been riding and competing horses from the age of 12. Her parents had hoped this would be a phase but Michaela has yet to grow out of this. Michaela obtained her Animal-Assisted Therapy certification in 2023 and has since brought together her love of horses and mental health.
